Final Project Presentations

You'll present current status of your final projects in class on Wed., 11/30. Each group should present for approximately 12-15 minutes (no more than 15, please), with each group member speaking for an equal portion of that time. Here's what I suggest regarding content:

Create approximately 8 slides in PowerPoint or a similar tool.
Slide 1: Project title and names of students involved
Slides 2-3: Give use some context. What problem are you solving? Why is it important/interesting? Do some research into related work (Google Scholar is a great resource here) and give the highlights. How/why does your work differ?

(Of course, your projects need not be original research. Nevertheless, it's important that you give us at least some information regarding the larger context.)
Slides 4-7: The technical meat of what you've done. This can include Coq theorems/specifications, plus a brief description of the current status of your proofs, etc.
Slide 8: Next steps? What do you hope to accomplish between now and the final project report due date?

To reduce setup time during the class presentations, I'd like each group to email me their slides no later than the day before the presentations (i.e., Tue., 11/29). I'll make the slide decks accessible on the computer in ARC 159.

NOTE: Public speaking is always a bit daunting, especially if you haven't had much practice before. I know I always got very stressed giving presentations as a student! But there's no reason for you to feel the same. The presentations are intended to give you some practice presenting your work in a low-pressure supportive environment.
